MONETIZATION
The First Dollar Hits Different
When I joined PromptBase, I didn’t expect much.
I just wanted to experiment - create something high-quality, upload it, and see whether the market responds.
Then, a few days later…
my first sale came through.
It wasn’t just money.
It felt like validation - a signal that the work I put in has real value to someone else.
This newsletter is the full story of how it happened.
“The first dollar is never about income. It’s proof that something you built matters to someone else.”

How The Entire Workflow Worked (ChatGPT → Images → Sora 2 → PromptBase)

The entire workflow
Most people think prompt selling is about writing a few lines of text.
That’s not how high-value prompts are created.
I built this product like an actual digital asset.
Here’s the full breakdown 👇
STARTING WITH CHATGPT
Step 1: I Designed the Visual Assets Using ChatGPT
Before creating the final 360° spin video, I needed high-end product stills.
So I asked ChatGPT to generate output-quality images for each product concept in 2:1 cinematic ratio:
Carbon fiber gaming laptop
Damascus steel chef’s knife
Royal blue velvet sectional sofa
Automatic skeleton wristwatch
Professional mirrorless camera
Electric custom cruiser motorcycle
Rally-inspired sedan
ChatGPT generated studio-grade images - exactly the kind Sora excels with, here are some of the images which I generated at first:

Professional mirrorless camera

Damascus Steel Chef’s Knife

Automatic skeleton wristwatch
NEXT UP: SORA 2
Step 2: I Converted Those Images Into Sora 2 Video Prompts

My Sora 2 Page
With the images ready, I moved to the next stage:
turning them into premium 360° rotating product videos.
For that, I crafted a detailed, cinematic Sora prompt:
studio-grade three-point lighting
perfect rotation timing
crisp depth-of-field
accurate reflections from material surfaces
a clean, brand-consistent background
end-frame logo + tagline overlay
These variables made the prompt feel like a professional filmmaking tool, not a hobby text block.
Here is the full Sora 2 prompt I used to generate the 360° product videos that helped me land my first PromptBase sale:
Create an ultra-polished, high-end 360-degree rotating product video based on the uploaded reference image. The product should rotate smoothly at a steady, controlled speed, completing a full spin without distortion or wobble. Keep the product perfectly centered while the environment stays clean and stable.
Use elevated studio cinematography. Light the scene with precise three-point lighting:
• Key light from the upper-left for form and depth
• Soft fill from the right to balance shadows
• Subtle backlight to highlight contours and edges
All reflections, surface responses, and micro-textures should match the real materials visible in the reference image. Showcase the richness of [INSERT MATERIAL DESCRIPTIONS: polished steel, brushed metal, matte composite, glass optics, ceramic glaze, carbon fiber, leather, etc.].
Choose a background that complements the product: [INSERT BACKGROUND PREFERENCE: clean white, soft gradient, dark premium backdrop, or minimalist studio texture]. Keep it uncluttered, elegant, and brand-consistent.
Maintain crisp focus throughout the rotation. Use shallow depth-of-field only to soften the background, never the product. Ensure fine details remain sharp - engravings, logos, stitching, texturing, seams, buttons, structural elements, and any other visible characteristics.
Highlight important elements during the rotation: [INSERT SPECIFIC FEATURES: design accents, unique parts, materials, engravings, buttons, mechanisms, patterns].
Add discrete, refined text overlays featuring: [INSERT PRODUCT BENEFITS/SPECS: durability, performance, craftsmanship, exclusivity, precision engineering, water resistance, key functions, warranty]. Typography should be tasteful and premium, matching the brand’s identity.
End with the product facing forward, stationary, hero-lit. Overlay [INSERT BRAND NAME AND TAGLINE] in clean, elegant type, aligned neatly with the frame’s composition.
Sora 2 takes a well-crafted prompt like this and produces stunning product spins suitable for ecommerce, ads, and brand campaigns.
Step 3: I Built My PromptBase Listing Like a Premium Product
Here’s where many people fail:
They upload a prompt like they’re posting on Discord.
Instead, I treated mine like a digital product.
I added:
A strong title
Clear, specific, luxury-focused.
A detailed product description
Explained what the prompt does, who it helps, and why it’s valuable.
Editable variable fields
So buyers could customize the prompt instantly.
Real examples
I included multiple product categories showcasing versatility.
A polished image thumbnail
Visuals matter - especially in marketplaces.

Why This Prompt Worked (And Sold)
Buyers don’t pay for generic text.
They pay for precision.
Here’s why my listing performed:
1. It solves a real problem: Ecommerce sellers, marketers, designers, and small brands need product videos.
2. It feels like a premium creative asset: The prompt reads like a cinematography guide, not a random text command.
3. It includes a full workflow: Images → Video → Branding → Export format
4. It’s highly customizable: Buyers can use it across hundreds of products.
5. It stands out from low-effort prompts: Quality is rare. And rare things sell.
The Emotional Impact of Earning That First Dollar
It wasn’t about the amount.
It was the signal:
“Your digital product has value.”
“A stranger paid for your creativity.”
“You can scale this.”
That first dollar is psychological fuel.
And honestly, it’s addictive.

Final Takeaway
In total I have uploaded a total of four prompts till date, but I’ve seen creators upload dozens of prompts on PromptBase, sometimes posting daily, yet never getting a single sale. And I realized something - it’s not about volume, it’s about intention. One well-crafted, high-quality prompt can outperform fifty rushed ones.
If you’re thinking about posting your first prompt or your first digital product online, here’s my advice:
Start small.
Start fast.
Start without waiting for perfection.
Your first dollar won’t change your finances.
It will change your mindset.
And once your mindset changes, everything else follows.
